Not only is the country of Malta absolutely stunning in every aspect, it is also home to a variety of different filming locations from just about the best show in the world Game of Thrones. <3 I've collected the best and most accessible filming locations and how to get there. So book the cheap flights, rent a car and take off on a Game of Thrones road-trip. You 10000000% will not regret it.
The biggest tip for this road- trip is to not rent a car from Avis. They will rip you off. It is relatively cheap to rent a car for a few days so long as you do NOT go with that company. You will need to rent a car to make this trip the best it can possibly be.
1. Mtahleb Cliffs
The Dothraki camp for after Khal Drogo collapses in season 1, episode 9.
Also the place where Khaleesi enters the funeral pyre and emerges in season 1, episode 10.

2. Azure Window, Gozo
Khal and Khaleesi’s wedding, season 1 episode 1. Quite a while away but well worth it, Gozo is gorgeous.

3. St. Dominic Convent, Rabat
Red Keep Garden, season 1, episode 7. Ned and Cersei discuss Cersei and Jaime's relationship.

4. The old gate of Mdina
The old gate of Mdina stood in for King’s Landing in season 1, episode 3. Catelyn and Ser Rodrik ride into King’s Landing to investigate the attack on Bran.
Also seen in the episode later when Ned says goodbye to Catelyn at the gate.

5. Verdala Palace, Buskett Gardens, Dingli
Illyrio’s Mansion in season 1, episode 1. Khaleesi and Viserys meet Khal Drogo out front of the mansion.
Note: This is not actually open to the public but you can go up close to it and have a gander.

6. Piazza Mesquita, Mdina
Little Finger’s Brothel, season 1, episode 3.

7. San Anton Palace and Gardens, Attard
It was the setting for the Red Keep Stables in season 1, episode 3 when the Starks arrive at the Red Keep.
In season 1, episode 8 a number of the Starks’ attendants are murdered by the Lannister soldiers while unloading some cargo from which Arya later recovers her sword.
Also used as Red Keep Hallway in season 1, episode 5 when Ned is walking through the keep when a messenger informs him that the small council is meeting.
In season 1, episode 7 Varys and Littlefinger inform Ned that the Goldcloaks are under his control in this place too.
In season 1, episode 4 this place is used as the Red Keep Gardens when Ned and Littlefinger discuss the actions of the former Hand right before his death.
